Education and Experience:
- Equivalent to a High School education or GED
- Professional cleaning experience is helpful
- Hospitality industry experience is helpful
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:
Varies by Department. All required licenses and certifications must be maintained in active status without suspension or revocation throughout employment.
Public Works Department:
Parks, Recreation, and Open Space Department:
- Crowd Manager Certification – within 15 days of hire
- CPR/First Aid Certification – within 6 months of hire
- Mandated Reporting: Recognizing Child Abuse and Neglect
Special Note: This position, along with other child care providers, are one of many groups of professionals required to report known or reasonable suspicion of abuse and/or neglect of children in their care and are considered mandated reporters as outlined in Nevada Revised Statutes.
Required Knowledge and Skills
Knowledge of:
- Safe work practices and regulations pertaining to the work.
- Correct business English, including spelling, grammar and punctuation.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide. Ability to understand and apply ratios.
Skill in:
- Safely using and maintaining hand and power tools related to the work.

- Preparing basic records of work performed.
- Performing general maintenance work, individually or as a member of a crew, in various areas, depending on the function.
- Contributing effectively to the accomplishment of team or work unit goals, objectives and activities.
- Ability to read and communicate with basic English skills.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED:
Under General Supervision - Incumbents at this level are given assignments and objectives that are governed by specifically outlined work methods and a sequence of steps, which are explained in general terms. The responsibility for achieving the work objectives, however, rests with a superior. Immediate supervision is not consistent, but checks are integrated into work processes and/or reviews are frequent enough to ensure compliance with instructions.
