Position Overview:
Trenchless Lining & Excavation Technician
We are seeking a SKILLED Trenchless Plumbing Excavation Technician to join our growing plumbing team. This role combines traditional plumbing, excavation equipment operation, and trenchless pipe rehabilitation using Cured-In-Place Pipe (CIPP) and spray lining technologies. The ideal candidate is hands-on, safety-focused, and capable of working both independently and as part of a crew, with opportunities for leadership and advancement.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate excavation equipment such as backhoes and mini excavators to safely expose underground plumbing systems
- Perform plumbing repairs and replacements alongside a lead technician
- Lead or assist with CIPP and spray lining installations, including pipe preparation, cleaning, inspection, and lining setup
- Set up, operate, and maintain lining and curing equipment (including hot water systems)
- Mix, apply, and cure resin systems according to project specifications
- Troubleshoot equipment and installation issues on-site to ensure quality results
- Prepare and restore job sites before and after work completion
- Follow all safety protocols, job specifications, and quality standards
- Communicate clearly with team members, project managers, customers, and inspectors
- Train and mentor junior technicians as needed
- Maintain accurate job documentation and reports
- Work efficiently in varying weather and site conditions
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of trenchless rehabilitation methods and equipment
- Equipment operation experience (mini excavator, backhoe) is a significant plus
- Experience in plumbing, excavation, or trenchless pipe rehabilitation (CIPP and/or spray lining preferred) a plus
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and installation issues in the field
- Prior leadership or crew oversight experience a plus
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills
- Valid driver’s license
- Willingness to travel to job sites as required
Pay: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
