Overview
Join our dental team as a Dental Assistant and become a vital part of delivering exceptional patient care in a fast-paced, friendly environment! In this role, you will support dentists and hygienists by preparing treatment areas, assisting during procedures, and ensuring a smooth patient experience from start to finish. Your expertise will help promote oral health and comfort for our diverse patient community while adhering to the highest standards of clinical confidentiality and infection control. This position offers an opportunity to develop your skills in general dentistry. Uniform reimbursement after 90 days. Work week is Monday-Thursday with only one evening shift.
Duties
- Prepare treatment rooms with dental instruments, supplies, and equipment, ensuring all tools are sterilized according to dental sterilization procedures and infection prevention management policies
- Assist dentists during various procedures with chairside assistance using four-handed dentistry techniques
- Take high-quality dental x-rays and imaging while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and radiation safety protocols
- Manage patient records accurately within electronic medical records (EMR) systems in Eaglesoft, including updating medical history and vital signs
- Educate patients on oral health care practices, post-treatment instructions, and preventive measures to promote long-term dental wellness
- Ensure the cleanliness and sterilization of dental instruments and equipment using aseptic techniques and infection control standards
- Support administrative tasks such as patient management software updates, appointment scheduling, and assisting the dental receptionist when needed
Experience
- Previous experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred; familiarity with dental terminology and clinical procedures is essential
- Proficiency with dental software systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft for managing medical records and patient information
- Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention and control practices including dental sterilization procedures and aseptic technique
- Hands-on experience with dental x-ray technology, 3D scanners, imaging, and dental equipment operation
- Strong understanding of anatomy knowledge relevant to dentistry along with general healthcare protocols
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages while demonstrating excellent patient care skills in a fast-paced environment
