Razava Bread Co. is an artisan bakery on Grand Avenue in St. Paul, MN, specializing in European-style sourdough breads. Our bakery is dedicated to producing exceptional breads using traditional techniques, high-quality ingredients, and an unwavering commitment to craftsmanship.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Production Baker to join our bakery team. As a Production Baker, you will play a key role in creating high-quality sourdough breads, working directly with our Head Baker to maintain and uphold Razava Bread Co.’s baking standards. This position is ideal for someone passionate about artisan baking, who is eager to contribute to a fully operational and dynamic bakery environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Dough Handling: Mix, shape, and manage high-hydration doughs, adhering to Razava Bread Co.’s recipes and standards.
- Oven Operations: Operate and manage hearth ovens, including loading and unloading bread, monitoring bake times, and ensuring consistent quality.
- Fermentation Management: Monitor fermentation schedules and make adjustments as needed to achieve the desired flavor and texture profiles.
- Baking Standards: Learn and adopt Razava Bread Co.’s methods and processes to ensure every product meets our rigorous quality standards.
- Cleaning and Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring all tools and equipment are cleaned and functioning properly.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Head Baker and other team members to meet daily production goals and schedules.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a bakery environment is strongly preferred, particularly with hearth ovens and artisanal baking.
- Passion for artisan bread and a commitment to learning and growing in the craft.
- Willingness to work overnight shifts, early mornings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to focus and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Competitive hourly wage based on experience.
