Duties
- Assist with menu planning to meet dietary needs and preferences, ensuring variety and nutritional balance
- Prepare and cook meals following established recipes, food safety guidelines, and portion standards
- Handle food with care, maintaining proper hygiene and sanitation throughout all stages of food handling and preparation
- Serve meals efficiently to residents or customers, ensuring friendly and professional interactions
- Support catering events by preparing dishes, setting up serving stations, and managing food presentation
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, utensils, and equipment in compliance with health regulations
- Follow all food safety protocols during food handling, storage, and disposal to prevent contamination or spoilage
Skills
- Proven experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide, with knowledge of special dietary requirements
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking techniques, and meal assembly in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent knife skills and proficiency in culinary techniques for diverse food items
- Experience with menu planning that accommodates nutritional guidelines and customer preferences
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Previous restaurant or food industry experience demonstrating excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while managing multiple tasks efficiently
