Job Summary
Wyman's is urgently seeking skilled, safety-focused Forklift Operators to join our dynamic teams in Hancock and Jonesboro, Maine! The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts to move, load, and unload materials within our cold storage warehouse. This role requires a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and teamwork to ensure smooth operations in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Operate forklifts and other heavy equipment safely and efficiently to transport materials within the warehouse.
- Load and unload products from trucks and containers while ensuring proper handling techniques are used.
- Assist in order picking and packing processes to fulfill customer orders accurately.
- Perform routine inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any mechanical issues.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to maintain an organized and efficient work environment.
- Engage in materials handling tasks, including heavy lifting and moving of goods as required.
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to minimize risks associated with heavy equipment operation.
Experience
- Previous experience operating forklifts or similar heavy equipment is required.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations, including materials handling, order picking, and inventory management.
- Mechanical knowledge is a plus for troubleshooting equipment issues as they arise.
- Experience working under the supervision of a warehouse supervisor or in a team-oriented environment is preferred.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks consistently throughout the shift.
