Overview
- Coordinate and manage activities in the CVOR (Cardiovascular Operating Room), ensuring all surgical team members are prepared and following protocols.
- Prioritize and direct the surgical team during emergent situations in the CVOR.
- Ensure all sterile procedures are strictly followed and patient safety is always the top priority.
- Deliver expert care in high-stakes, lifesaving cardiovascular surgeries and procedures.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to support cardiovascular surgeries, ensuring smooth operations and optimal patient outcomes.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of current acute care OR experience and 2 years of RN experience
- Valid NJ State License or Compact License at time of submission
- Active BLS certification required at time of submission
- ACLS certification (preferred)
- Experience with adult open heart and general cases when no hearts
- Ability to circulate; scrub experience preferred but not required
- Previous charge experience
- Experience with charting system EPIC or similar
- Ability to float within skillset without exceptions
- Ability to work and be on call during specified shifts and holidays
- Willingness to adhere to schedule, including weekends and holiday work, with indicated RTO requests
- Not currently under active background or license hits; no open/active BG or license hits accepted
- Scrub experience (preferred but not required)
- Trauma Level I or II experience (preferred)
- Knowledge of specialized procedures: abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, anterior lumbar interbody fusion, cervical fusion, appendectomy, carotid procedures, cholecystectomy, craniotomy, lumbar fusion, total joint replacement, VATS, Whipple, XLIF, etc.
- Experience with setting up equipment, case review, and handling multiple service lines
