Urban Habitat is seeking qualified Site Superintendent's with a strong background in public works construction management, specifically in large park construction, not limited to, earthwork, wet/dry utilities, paving, concrete, retaining walls, playgrounds, shade structures, construction small structures (restrooms). The ideal candidates will bring extensive experience overseeing construction projects, ensuring adherence to safety regulations, managing project timelines, and coordinating various aspects of the construction process.
Responsibilities:
- Review and approve the balance of Foremen, journeymen and laborer’s classifications labor rates and ratios
- Expedite vendors and subcontractors on a daily and weekly basis. Use the project manager for assistance with major or unusual delivery performance problems
- Develop a program to maintain good client relations involving staff on site
- Initiate and attend supplementary and regular meetings with clients for problem resolution and planning
- Coordinate and schedule all subcontractors. Hold weekly scheduling meetings with all subcontractors’ foremen
- Develop and implement a pre-job plan. Make course corrections to the plan as required. Create material handling and site utilization plans
- Study labor recaps and cost controls carefully to determine areas needing special attention and initiate changes and procedures to bring costs back into budget
- Develop a site logistics plan
- Lead the utilization of Urban Habitat tools and heavy equipment
- Collaborate with project partner superintendents
Other Duties:
- Provide high level management of safety, quality, risk, and compliance for the project and team members
- Recognize and mitigate unfavorable working conditions
- Seek opportunities to improve processes and procedures
Qualifications:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering or Construction Management, or 10 years trade experience
- Minimum five years of those years having supervisory experience
- Shown ability to fulfill all responsibilities for multiple and complex projects
- Detail orientation sufficient to organize and manage multiple project tasks
- Basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices
- Microsoft Office skills at an intermediate level
- Shown positive and professional attitude, and strong customer service skills
- Active listening skills and effective communication including an openness to diverse input and feedback
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $100,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
