Job Description:
- Responsible for decontamination, cleaning, processing and sterilization of supplies and equipment dispensed using various types of autoclaves, and following infection control policies
- Responsible for accurately assembling basic instrument sets and surgical procedure trays, including, Laparoscopy trays, Dilation and Curettage trays, Laparoscopes, Hysteroscopes, and basic gyn instruments
- Responsible for operating and maintaining sterilizers, heat sealers, biological records, and other equipment and machinery required to complete the sterilization process
- Package supplies according to specification and appropriate methods of sterilization
- Under supervision perform quality control on all sterilizers according to standards set by AAMI, AAAHC, AORN and other relevant regulatory bodies
- Dispense sterile supplies to appropriate locations
- Coordinate sterilization and dispensing of supplies with surgical technicians
- Maintain appropriate sterilization testing on a routine basis and document results as required
- Check all instruments for defects, proper working order, and a final check for cleanliness
Qualifications:
Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) required.
