Commercial Sales Representative
Job Summary
The Commercial Sales Representative at Ackerman Heating is responsible for driving commercial sales growth by developing relationships with building owners, property managers, contractors, and other commercial clients. This role focuses on selling commercial HVAC services, maintenance agreements, and project-based work while coordinating closely with internal operations and project teams to ensure customer satisfaction and successful execution.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Develop and manage relationships with commercial customers, including property managers, facility managers, and general contractors

Identify customer needs through job site visits, consultations, and review of building requirements

Promote and sell commercial HVAC services, repairs, replacements, and maintenance/service agreements

Prepare and present estimates, proposals, and contracts for commercial projects and ongoing services

Coordinate with estimating, operations, and service teams to ensure accurate scopes of work and smooth project execution

Track sales activity, pipeline, and forecasts using company-provided systems
-
Meet or exceed assigned sales and revenue goals

Follow up on leads, proposals, and active projects to ensure timely close and customer satisfaction

Represent Ackerman Heating professionally in customer meetings, networking events, and industry functions

Maintain working knowledge of company services, pricing, and industry best practices

Comply with all company policies, safety standards, and ethical business practices
Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent (bachelor’s degree preferred)

Proven experience in commercial sales, construction sales, or HVAC-related sales

Strong communication, negotiation, and customer service skills

Ability to manage multiple opportunities and deadlines simultaneously

Proficiency with basic computer systems, email, and Microsoft Office

Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
Preferred Experience

Commercial HVAC or mechanical industry experience

Experience selling service agreements and project-based work

Ability to read or interpret basic plans, specifications, and scopes of work

Familiarity with CRM or estimating software
Physical Requirements

Ability to travel locally to customer locations and job sites

Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods

Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally
