Job Summary
Express Employment Professionals in Newport News is seeking an experienced Carpenter Helper for a temp-to-hire opportunity with a local home improvement contractor in Yorktown, VA.

Responsibilities
- Assist carpenters with residential home improvement and remodeling projects
- Assist with framing, trim, siding, doors, windows, and other construction work
- Measure, cut, install, and handle building materials
- Safely use hand and power tools
- Load, unload, and organize materials and equipment
- Maintain a clean and safe job site
- Follow instructions and quality standards
- Work effectively as part of a construction team
Requirements
- Previous home improvement or residential construction experience required
- Valid driver's license required
- Own basic hand tools required
- Ability to safely use common hand and power tools
- Reliable transportation to job sites
- Strong work ethic and dependable attendance
- Ability to perform physical construction work
- Ability to follow directions and work well with others
