American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position at a Level 1 Trauma Center in Illinois, requiring a minimum of 2 years of acute care experience and an active IL RN license.

Acute care Med/Surg unit within a Level 1 Trauma Center hospital setting

Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
-
Every other weekend required (approximately 2 weekends per month)

Charting via Cerner EMR

Mandatory float facility — all travelers are required to float to other units or Cook County facilities at the facility's discretion, with up to 50 miles of floating possible
-
Float assignments may fall outside primary area of competency; team-based care model will be used in those cases

No call requirements

Active IL RN license required — pending licenses not accepted

Minimum 2 years of recent acute care Med/Surg experience required

Required certifications: BLS and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)

ACLS preferred

COVID vaccination proof required — no exceptions

2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

Local candidates are accepted and preferred; candidates must reside within a 75-mile radius of the facility

RTO is capped at 5 days total for the contract, with no more than 2 consecutive days at a time
-
RTO on weekends will not be approved

No RTO on holidays or the day immediately before or after a holiday
-
No block scheduling or special scheduling requests will be accommodated
-
Travelers may receive floating assignments as little as 2 hours before a shift start

Scrubs of any color are acceptable; scrubs are not provided by the facility
