We are actively recruiting Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) for full-time contract positions at a state-operated developmental center for individuals with intellectual disabilities in Kinston, North Carolina. Your expertise and leadership will help ensure high-quality care to those in need.
These highly competitive positions provide premium hourly pay and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
Successful candidates must be able to complete onboarding requirements and begin their assignment on August 17, 2026.
Job Details:
- August 17, 2026 Start Date
- 16-week contract (with opportunities for 13-week contract renewals)
- Full-time rotating 36-hour / 48-hour schedule (three 12-hour shifts / four 12-hour shifts, including every other weekend), weekdays and weekend days
- Two different day shifts are available (6:00 a.m. - 6:30 p.m. and 9:00 a.m. - 9:30 p.m.)
- Mandatory 4-week onboarding for orientation and training, first shift (7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.), Monday through Friday, at the beginning of the contract
License and Credential Requirements:
- Current North Carolina or multistate LPN license
- One year of nursing experience
- Current PPD
- Current CPR Certification, BLS - American Heart Association
Primary Job Duties:
- Provide comprehensive patient care, including assessment and monitoring of mental health conditions
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Maintain accurate records of patient histories, conditions, and treatments
- Educate patients and families on health management and treatment options
