Shift: 2nd Shift | 2:30 PM – 12:00 AM
Schedule: Monday–Friday, with occasional Saturdays and mandatory overtime as needed
Pay: $20.00–$21.00 per hour, depending on experience (DOE)
SUMMARY:
This position is primarily responsible for operating machines and monitoring production workflows by
performing the following duties personally or through subordinates.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
This role is responsible for ensuring production assembly cell is actively engaged to meet daily customer
demand and production schedule. The Production Team Lead provides effective training to the assembly
cell and ensures safety and quality standards are maintained at all times. The Production Team Lead will
assemble/produce personal care or nutritional products.
- Work with supervisor and other team leads to manage and prioritize staffing assignments to
ensure customer demand and the production schedule are met.
- Execute and coordinate employee training to ensure that procedures are followed and meet all
quality requirements.
- Use basic problem solving skills to ensure stable operation of the work cell.
- Report problems or concerns with quality, processes, equipment, materials and labor to
Production Supervisor.
- Work closely with support staff such as Technicians, Manufacturing Engineering, Production
Supervisor, Materials/Warehouse, Quality and Sanitation teams to resolve issues.
- Observe, maintain, coordinate and complete standard work.
- Complete lot acceptance activities for assigned assembly cell.
- Track and report daily/weekly/monthly production production metrics and facilitate regular
team communication.
- Identify and support continuous improvement efforts with Production Supervisor.
- Participate as an active member of the production assembly team and assembles products.
- Follow documented policies and procedures as designated by the company’s Quality System.
- Follow detailed assembly instructions, processes, and procedures.
- Complete required documentation relating to business or regulatory requirements.
- Maintains a clean and organized work area to facilitate manufacturing functions.
- Act as department communicator during status meetings, management updates, and staff shift
changes.
- Lead, train, and coach manufacturing staff to ensure requirements are met for production,
fulfillment, and employee safety.
- Meet with all employees at the entrance of the production room to ensure they are in
compliance with the cGMP’s and PPE per company requirements.
- Work together with warehouse team to receive and verify daily production components to
ensure production schedule is met.
- Be able to understand and follow work instructions (BOM) i.e., Fill ticket, Change Controls,
Deviations, Non-Conformance Material Report, Rework instructions, etc.
- Learn the ERP (Deacom) system to maintain accurate inventory levels on material used for daily
production runs.
- Maintain production’s staging area with accurate material’s inventory.
- Do daily production material reconciliation and close production paperwork within a 24-hour
period.
- Be able to submit change controls when the information in the BOM doesn’t match what the
process performed at the floor level.
- Hold daily start-up huddles with the production team to inform everyone the plan for the day
and expectations based on Safety, Quality and efficiency.
- Understands and follows up daily on production KPI’s. Work with the supervisor if the efficiency
is less than expected.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- 2-3 years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and
experience; 3 years’ experience preferred
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to communicate effectively through oral and written communications.
- Ability to analyze and solve problems.
- Ability to work with others collaboratively.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance
instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Experience leading teams or projects strongly desired.
- Food and Drug manufacturing experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and
differences between words and between series of numbers.? Ability to write print? and speak simple
sentences. English language skills required. Bi-lingual English and Spanish language skills preferred.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide. Ability to perform these
operations using of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.?
- Ability to convert and understand weight metrics such as grams, ML, OZ, LB, KG, Gallons.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral
instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger,
handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk and reach with hands and
arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste
or smell.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25
pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job
include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust
focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to fumes, airborne particles;
toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock. The employee is frequently exposed to vibration.
The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions (non-weather); working near
moving mechanical parts; extreme cold (non-weather) and extreme heat (non-weather), and moderate
to loud noise levels.
