About Us
We're a growing 3D design and print shop under Hollis Industries, LLC, based in Corbin/Gray, KY and building a brand-new production operation from the ground up. We run modern hardware — Bambu Lab H2C printers with AMS, Creality Raptor Pro 3D scanning, and full Autodesk Fusion 360 and CorelDRAW design workstations — and we're looking for a hands-on specialist who can design it, print it, finish it to a high standard, and help build the team that scales it.
This is a rare ground-floor opportunity. You won't be slotting into a rigid corporate role — you'll help shape how this shop runs, what we make, and how we train the people who come after you.
What You'll Do
- Reverse engineer parts from physical objects and 3D scans into clean, accurate CAD models in Autodesk Fusion 360
- Design negative-relief molds and tooling for casting, resin, and repeatable production
- Deliver high-end creative design and premium finishes — from concept through show-quality final product
- Run 3D scanning with the Creality Raptor Pro: capture, clean up meshes, and convert scans into usable models
- Manage 3D print production on Bambu Lab hardware — slicing, print prep, material selection, quality control, and troubleshooting
- Create graphics, branding, and marketing assets using CorelDRAW, Adobe Photoshop, and Canva
- Help develop new products, prototypes, and repeatable production workflows
- Train and mentor team members on design software, scanning, printing, and finishing as we grow
- Keep projects organized and moving from concept to finished, shippable product
Must-Have Skills
These are the core of the job — you should be strong in all of them:
- 3D reverse engineering — take a physical part or a 3D scan and rebuild it into clean, accurate, print-ready CAD
- Negative / mold design — design negative-relief molds and tooling in CAD for casting, resin, and repeatable production
- Creative, high-end design and finishing — a real eye for premium aesthetics, plus the hands-on skill to deliver show-quality finishes (sanding, painting, coating, surface prep). We hold a high bar; "good enough" isn't the standard here
- Autodesk Fusion 360 — confident parametric modeling, assemblies, and print-ready STL/3MF export
Also Required
- Hands-on 3D printing experience — slicing, supports, materials (PLA/PETG/ASA/etc.), and how to diagnose and fix a failed print
- 3D scanning and mesh cleanup (Creality Raptor Pro or similar)
- Self-directed and resourceful — you can take a project from concept to finished product on your own
- Strong communicator who can teach and train others as the team grows
Nice to Have (a Plus, Not Required)
- Graphic design skills in CorelDRAW, Photoshop, or Canva — a bonus if you can also handle branding and marketing assets
- Familiarity with Bambu Studio / Orca Slicer
- Background running or setting up a print farm or small production operation
- Video, photography, or web/branding experience
- Any startup or small-business experience where you wore multiple hats
Why Join Us
- Ground-floor role at a startup you'll help build and shape
- Work on current, top-tier equipment — not hand-me-down machines
- Variety — design, production, training, and product development all in one role
- Room to grow into a lead or shop-manager position as we scale
IMPORTANT — Please Read Before Applying
This role involves proprietary designs, original creative work, and product development. A signed intellectual property, confidentiality, and work-for-hire agreement is a condition of employment. All work created in this position — designs, models, molds, and finishes — is the property of the company. If you're not comfortable with that, this isn't the right fit.
How to Apply
Apply directly through Indeed with your resume. Serious candidates should include a portfolio, print samples, or examples of Fusion 360 / mold / finish work — this is how you'll stand out. We want to see what you've made, not just read about it.
Application Question(s):
- Which CAD software have you used extensively?
- Which 3D printers have you personally operated?
- Please provide a portfolio, website, GitHub, Google Drive folder, or other link showing examples of your CAD, printing, or design work. You may also email photos of work to [email protected]
