Responsibilities:
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations
- Take and develop dental x-rays
- Perform patient assessments, including taking vital signs and medical history
- Provide patient education on oral hygiene and post-operative care
- Sterilize dental instruments and equipment
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
- Assist with dental lab work, including pouring and trimming models
- Schedule patient appointments and manage the dental office calendar
Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficient in using dental software (e.g., Epic) for patient management and scheduling
- Knowledge of dental procedures, instruments, and materials
- Familiarity with pediatric dentistry techniques and procedures
- Experience with computer-assisted design (CAD) for creating dental restorations
- Understanding of medical coding and documentation requirements
