Qualified Mental Health Professional-Child
The Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) provides direct therapeutic, skill‑building, and crisis intervention services to children, adolescents, and adults with behavioral, emotional, or mental health needs. This role supports clients in their homes and community settings, ensuring safety, stabilization, and progress toward individualized treatment goals. The QMHP maintains compliance with state regulations, agency policies, and Medicaid service requirements.
Job Objectives:
Intensive In‑Home (IIH) Services
- Deliver structured, family‑centered interventions to reduce risk of out‑of‑home placement.
- Implement treatment plans focused on emotional regulation, behavior modification, and family functioning.
- Provide crisis response, safety planning, and de‑escalation within the home.
- Facilitate coordination with schools, social services, probation, and other community partners.
- Document all sessions, contacts, and interventions within required timeframes.
Mental Health Skill‑Building (MHSB)
- Teach and model daily living skills, coping strategies, medication management, and independent living skills.
- Support adults in improving stability, self‑sufficiency, and community integration.
- Conduct ongoing assessments of functional needs and progress.
- Maintain accurate service notes aligned with Medicaid MHSB criteria.
Crisis Stabilization Services
- Provide immediate, short‑term interventions to stabilize clients experiencing acute mental health crises.
- Conduct risk assessments, safety planning, and crisis de‑escalation.
- Collaborate with emergency services, hospitals, and crisis teams when needed.
- Monitor client safety and provide intensive support until stabilization is achieved.
Primary Responsibilities:
To implement the strategic goals, objectives and principles of the agency.
To provide vision and leadership toward achievement of the organization’s philosophy, mission, strategy, and its annual goals and objectives.
Assures that the organization, its mission, programs, products, and services are consistently presented in strong, positive image to relevant stakeholders.
Participate in ongoing reports and documentation following the initial approval process.
Participates in ongoing assessments to ascertain the needs, strengths, and preferences of the client.
Develop treatment plan with client and family participation.
Provide therapeutic interventions, in-home support and guidance to the client and family as outlined in client’s treatment plan.
Provide linkage of services and service coordination to meet the needs of the client and family.
Participates in the development of the initial service plan and revise as necessary.
Participates in the development of the discharge plan throughout treatment.
Arrange for weekly or bi-weekly case supervision with the clinical supervisor.
Acts as a co-leader of parenting and peer education/support groups as needed.
Participates in collaborative treatment planning and coordination of meetings for all clients, including those involving schools, physicians, psychologists, court, probation, and other community professionals involved in client’s treatment.
Schedule and attend weekly supervision with LMHP to discuss client’s progress and review treatment records.
Assist in the providing crisis interventions as needed.
Complete and submit daily progress notes.
Submit appropriate documentation as instructed and in a timely manner for compensation of services rendered.
Attend scheduled organization meetings consistently.
Maintain a high degree of client confidentiality.
Assist the Program Director and Case Managers in oversight of the quantitative and qualitative records review process for the client files: assurance of compliance with contract, accreditation, and licensure expectations and standards.
Provide presentations, both formal and informal, that effectively describe the Providing Positive Life-Changing Experiences in and Around Our Communities model of our services offered. Provide presentations to all types of referral systems; Department of Juvenile Justice, Human or Social Services, Schools and Family Assessment and Planning Team, Department of Correction and any other potential community stakeholder and/or referral source.

Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10 – 15 per week
