Step into a role where science meets real-world impact. As a Geologist in the UST Corrective Action Group 2, you won’t just study environmental issues—you’ll lead the charge in investigating and restoring sites affected by underground storage tank releases.
Job Duties:
Review the site investigation report once a release has been confirmed.
Review RECAP Evaluation Reports and determine if calculated Limiting Risk Standards are correct.
Review aquifer test data to determine the appropriate groundwater classification.
Review and comment on Corrective Action Plans to address contaminated media above RECAP standards.
Conduct site visits to oversee investigations and installation and implementation of approved remedial technologies.
Participate in the ROG group to evaluate appropriate corrective action technologies and cost estimates.
Position-Specific Details:
Appointment Type: This position may be filled as either a probational appointment, a job appointment (a temporary appointment not to exceed four years), or a promotion of a permanent classified employee. If the position is filled as a job appointment, it could be converted to a probational appointment should funding become available.
Domicile: Caddo
Career Progression: This position may be filled as a Geologist 1, 2, or 3, depending on the level of experience of the selected applicant.
Compensation: This position offers a Special Entrance Rate (SER) listed below. This is the minimum compensation that may be offered. The job title and salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
