Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards, ensuring consistency and quality in every dish
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as chopping, marinating, and portioning ingredients to streamline kitchen operations
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering strictly to food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Handle food with care, following proper food handling procedures to ensure safety and freshness
- Support menu planning efforts by suggesting innovative ideas and assisting in ingredient selection when needed
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation during busy service times, maintaining a lively pace
- Ensure all food is cooked to the correct temperature and presented attractively before serving
Experience
- Previous experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is highly desirable, demonstrating familiarity with special dietary needs and protocols
- Hands-on culinary experience in a restaurant or food service setting, showcasing strong knife skills and meal preparation abilities
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures within the food industry
