Job OverviewWe are seeking a reliable and skilled Truck Driver to join our transportation team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating a truck to transport goods and materials across various routes. They are also required to perform inspections before and after a trip and unload cased products, materials, or dirt from the trailer to a customer's facilities. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, adherence to traffic regulations, and the ability to manage time effectively while ensuring timely deliveries.
Duties
- Safely drive and operate a tractor-trailer over long distances to deliver freight.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper handling of goods.
- Conduct routine inspections of the vehicle before and after trips, reporting any issues.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, vehicle service, and cargo information.
- Navigate routes efficiently while adhering to delivery schedules.
- Drive manual transmission vehicles when required.
- Comply with all federal and state regulations regarding transportation.
Skills
- Proven experience in route driving with a strong understanding of road safety regulations.
- Strong truck driving skills with experience in maneuvering tractor-trailers.
- Ability to load and unload cargo effectively and safely.
- Experience driving tankers is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to plan routes efficiently.
- Strong communication skills for interaction with dispatchers and customers.
Requirements:
- Class A CDL or commercial driver's license.
- Must pass a drug and alcohol test.
- Must have a clean driving record.
- Must provide a medical certificate.
