Summary of Work
Work involves providing case management services to offenders 18 to 24 years of age that have been sentenced to ND Parole and Probation.
Duties and Tasks
- Develop and maintain professional working relationships with the courts, social service agencies, human service centers, and other relevant agencies within the community.
- Compile and analyze information to assess the needs of young adults.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individual treatment programs.
- Provide structured supervision with 18-24 year olds.
- Arrange, facilitate, and monitor placements.
- Provide crisis intervention and follow-up to emergency services for young adults.
- Assess need for individual counseling referrals and coordinate with service providers.
- Prepare documentation for revocation hearings.
- Prepare documents and maintain files to complete case documentation required by the central office, court, county social services, and other agencies involved in the young adult program.
- Complete time logs as part of targeted case management.
Minimum Qualifications
Young Adult Corrections Officer requires a bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, sociology, criminal justice, juvenile justice, or other closely related field and two years of work experience providing case management services to delinquent youth, 18-24 year olds or offenders. A master's degree in one of the above fields may substitute for one yar of the work experience requirement. Start date 9/3/2026.
