Envirolite, LLC is a specialty foam fabricator hiring a motivated and dependable Maintenance Technician at our Coldwater, Michigan facility. We manufacture a wide variety of lightweight foam products for healthcare, athletic, and industrial applications in a clean and organized production environment.
Job Summary:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation and repair of production equipment through timely response, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance. This role plays a key part in minimizing downtime, supporting continuous improvement, and maintaining a clean, safe work environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Machine Response:
- Respond promptly to machine downtime events and maintenance calls.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, or hydraulic issues to restore equipment to operation in a timely manner.
- Track and meet response time targets to reduce overall production downtime.
- Maintenance & Repair:
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production machinery and support equipment.
- Assist in equipment changeovers and calibrations as needed.
- Document maintenance activities accurately through work order systems.
- Learning & Development:
- Participate in structured training to develop advanced troubleshooting and repair skills.
- Learn and understand equipment operating principles to anticipate and prevent failures.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to identify areas for improvement and focus.
- Housekeeping & Scrap Management:
- Support production teams with removal and proper disposal of scrap materials in compliance with company procedures.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas, maintenance shop, and equipment zones.
- Ensure tools, parts, and workstations are properly stored after use.
- Safety & Compliance:
- Follow all company safety procedures and lockout/tagout policies.
- Report and correct unsafe conditions immediately.
- Adhere to environmental and quality standards.
Learning Objectives for First 90 Days:
- Achieve target machine response time goals per shift.
- Demonstrate ability to complete basic troubleshooting and repairs with minimal supervision.
- Understand and follow standard operating procedures for scrap handling and cleanup.
- Complete safety and equipment training modules.
- Build familiarity with all primary production equipment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or related trade school preferred.
- 1–3 years of experience in equipment maintenance or related field.
- Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and in a team.
Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow detailed instructions.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to operate manufacturing equipment safely and efficiently.
- Basic math skills for measuring materials and tracking production.
- History of good attendance is imperative.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in varying temperatures and factory conditions.
- Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for the entirety of your shift.
- Ability to lift up to (50) pounds regularly.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $27.00 - $31.00 per hour
