Overview
Join our team as a Part-Time Trades & Tech Aide, where your passion for hands-on learning, practical technology, and mentoring will directly impact the next generation of builders. At Firm Foundation Academy, we believe in student agency and learning by doing. In this role, you won't just be managing a classroom—you'll be supporting a vibrant shop, lab, and studio environment.

If you are passionate about de-fronting the traditional classroom, troubleshooting practical tech, and helping youth develop tangible skills, this position is perfect for you. This paid role offers flexible hours while gaining valuable experience in a cutting-edge, project-based educational model.

- Administrative Guardrails: Perform light data entry, attendance tracking, and record-keeping to ensure the academy's operational accuracy.
- Instructional Assistance: Review project briefs and instructional materials for clarity, ensuring students have clear, actionable guidelines for their builds.
Requirements
- Hands-on Familiarity: Prior experience in a trade, shop, maker space, or laboratory setting is highly desirable.
- Student-Centric Mindset: Previous experience working with middle or high school students, with a knack for fostering a productive, respectful learning environment.
- Tech Savvy: Comfort navigating digital learning management systems (LMS) and troubleshooting basic software/hardware issues.
- Clear Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with instructional staff and mentor young builders.
- Organizational Grit: Excellent organizational skills to manage tools, materials, and multiple student projects simultaneously.
- Safety Conscious: A strong commitment to maintaining safety protocols in a technical and physical build environment.
