Hiring a very skilled Renovation Technician Crew Lead (Renovation Foreman)
This person needs to be reliable and have a versatile skillset, combining someone who is knowledgeable and experienced in remodeling kitchens, bathrooms, flooring installs and repairs, including tiling, cabinetry, fixture installation, and floor surface replacement (hardwood, vinyl, tile). The role requires prepping surfaces, measuring materials, helping to demo old structures, and installing new materials while ensuring structural integrity and adhering to building codes. The demo part won’t be expected of this role, although guiding the team through this process will be necessary.
***Work is required Monday through Friday. You will be paid every Friday. Bonus tiers are available. Starting pay $18/hr. Some of the tools are provided by employer.
Key Responsibilities
· Kitchen/Bathroom Repair: Perform routine maintenance to ensure structures remain intact and interior fixtures and systems work. Repair or replace cabinetry, countertops, backsplashes, and trim. Install plumbing fixtures (sinks, faucets) and manage tiling work.
- Flooring Installation: Remove existing flooring (carpet, tile, vinyl) and prepare subfloors. Install new flooring materials, including hardwood, laminate, vinyl plank, and tile. Refinish/repair any section which requires it.
- Surface Preparation and Outdoor improvements: Level surfaces and ensure substrates meet code requirements. Complete outdoor improvements, such as cleaning gutters, fixing fences and repairing cracks in sidewalks, driveways and parking areas. Improve a structure’s appearance by painting, staining, sealing and varnishing.
- Demo & Cleanup: Perform demolition of old kitchens/bathrooms, remove debris, and keep work areas clean. Help will be provided but this role is expected to lead such efforts.
· Safety & Compliance: Use tools, chemicals, and equipment safely, including specialized cutting and installation tools. Keep tools, equipment and supplies organized and accurately inventoried
· Miscellaneous tasks: Handle minor electrical, plumbing and heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) service tasks, such as replacing filters and light bulbs and troubleshooting leaks. If needed, assemble furniture, appliances and electronics. Install shelving, whiteboards, artwork and blinds. Update work order tickets with notes.
Qualifications
· Experience: Proven experience in residential remodeling, handyman services, or specific trades (flooring, tile setting, carpentry).
· Skills: Strong proficiency in using hand/power tools, measuring, and materials selection.
· Physical Strength: Ability to lift heavy materials when needed (e.g., tile, appliances) and perform physical tasks (bending, kneeling, standing).
· Attention to Detail: High precision for layout and finishing work.
· Communication: Ability to communicate with homeowners, employer or other supervisors regarding project progress
Typical Requirements
· High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
· Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
· Tools are provided by Employer.
