Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Water Resources Engineer with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience to join our collaborative team. In this role, you will support a variety of multi-disciplinary public and private projects, including stormwater management, floodplain analysis, drainage infrastructure, low impact development, and other stormwater-related planning and design efforts.
You will assist in all phases of project design and delivery including preparing plans, cost estimates, schedules, and technical reports. Responsibilities also include hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, including 2D modeling, stormwater facility design, floodplain permitting, erosion control, and agency coordination. You will track permitting requirements and schedules throughout each project and support construction administration through site visits, meetings, and inspections.

Required Qualifications
- Registered Civil Engineer in the State of Oregon, or the ability to obtain registration within six months
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field, or a combination of equivalent training and experience
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in water resources, stormwater, or hydraulic engineering
- Proficiency with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software such as XPSTORM, InfoDrainage, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, or similar tools
- Strong technical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in technical writing
- Ability to work both independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively within a project team
- Effective communication skills with internal teams, clients, and agency staff
- Authorized to work in the United States
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with design standards and permitting requirements used by jurisdictions and agencies in the Portland metro and/or SW Washington area
- Experience with 2D hydraulic modeling (HEC-RAS 2D, TUFLOW, or similar)
- Washington PE license, or the ability to obtain within six months, is a plus
- Experience with FEMA floodplain mapping, Letter of Map Revision (LOMR), or Conditional Letter of Map Revision (CLOMR) submittals
- Proficiency with ArcGIS, Civil 3D, and Bluebeam
- Experience designing and implementing Low Impact Development (LID) and Green Stormwater Infrastructure (GSI) features in public and private projects
- Familiarity with Oregon DSL, USACE Section 404/401, and FEMA permitting processes
- Certified Floodplain Manager certification or ability to obtain within one year, is a plus

- Annual Salary: $100,000-$130,000 depending on experience (exceptionally qualified candidates may be considered for a Senior Water Resources Engineer position, with compensation up to $140,000+)
