The Boys & Girls Club of Troy is currently looking to hire Program Staff Team Members to join the Club’s school-year staff and work with Club members aged 6-18 in our after-school programs. As a key part of our team, a Program Staff Team Member is responsible for overseeing the delivery of a broad range of activities and programs, in areas of development which include, but are not limited to: Character and Leadership; Education and Career; Sports, Fitness and Recreation; Health and Life Skills; and the Arts. A person in this position works in conjunction with the Program Director and other Club staff to plan, develop and evaluate programming.
Program Staff Team Members at the Boys & Girls Club of Troy play a critical role in: developing a unique environment appealing to youth; increasing visibility of Club programs, both within the Club and outside; develop strategies for recruiting new members; serving as a mentor for Club kids; ensuring productive and effective performance of volunteers working in the Club; and other duties as assigned.
This is a part-time position requiring approximately 15-20 hours per week from September through mid-June, with a possibility of remaining on staff during the summer program which resumes in mid-June. Some college education and experience working with youth is preferred. Experience planning and supervising activities and programs for young people is very helpful. Candidates must have strong communication, organizational and leadership skills. Completing CPR and First Aid training (provided by Boys & Girls Club of Troy) at least bi-annually is mandatory.
Work schedules can work around college class schedules. Hours will typically be from 2:30-700pm.
