Sylmar Mental Health Facility is hiring compassionate, reliable, and professional Behavioral Health Technicians / Mental Health Technicians to support adults in a residential mental health treatment setting in Sylmar. Group therapy or group facilitation experience is strongly preferred. This role is ideal for someone who is comfortable helping lead, support, or co-facilitate therapeutic groups, wellness activities, coping skills groups, recovery-focused discussions, or structured programming in a behavioral health environment.
Location is very important: This position is fully on-site at our Sylmar residential facility located in Sylmar, CA 91342. Candidates must be able to reliably commute to this location for scheduled shifts.
What You'll Do
- Support and help facilitate group therapy, psychoeducational groups, wellness activities, and structured resident programming
- Support residents with daily routines, meals, hygiene, activities, and overall well-being
- Monitor resident safety and complete routine safety checks
- Complete accurate shift notes, documentation, and incident reporting as needed
- Assist with appointments, medication support, and daily care coordination
- Maintain a clean, calm, safe, and professional residential environment
- Communicate resident concerns promptly and follow all care, safety, and reporting protocols
Ideal Candidates Have Experience In
- Group therapy support, group facilitation, psychoeducational groups, or structured therapeutic activities
- Behavioral health or mental health support
- Residential treatment or crisis residential programs
- Substance use treatment, assisted living, caregiving, or patient monitoring
- Supporting adults with behavioral, emotional, psychiatric, or mental health needs

Compensation & Schedule
