Job Title: Heavy Equipment/Lube Technician
Department: Shop
Reports To: Mechanic Manager
Position Summary
The Heavy Equipment Lube Technician performs preventative maintenance on heavy construction and mining equipment. Duties include driving to local jobsites and company-owned locations to complete scheduled maintenance tasks. Candidates with prior lube technician or heavy equipment maintenance experience are preferred, though training may be provided to qualified applicants.
Position Responsibilities
- Safely operate company service trucks, pull trailers, and perform basic operation of miscellaneous equipment as needed.
- Review maintenance reports and schedules to prioritize, plan, and implement preventative maintenance tasks.
- Travel to various locations throughout the assigned work area to perform services.
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks including, but not limited to:
- Walk-around and visual inspections
- Checking, changing, and sampling fluids
- Checking and changing filters
- Checking and adjusting tire air pressure
- Measuring and documenting component wear and part condition
- Making minor repairs
- Lubricating and greasing equipment
- Washing and cleaning equipment
- Accurately log all activities and complete both paper and computerized reports through applicable fleet maintenance applications.
- Monitor and help maintain inventories of supplies and parts related to preventative maintenance.
- Take direction from supervisors and work cooperatively with peers.
- Maintain a clean, organized work environment and vehicle, including proper care and protection of tools.
- Follow all applicable safety, environmental, and regulatory policies and procedures.
- Perform other tasks and general labor as assigned.
Essential Skills
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to read alphanumeric information and perform basic math.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as required.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Position Qualifications
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including goggles, face shields, and gloves.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and background. CDL or additional certifications may be required for certain assignments.
- Ability to work independently, exercise judgment, solve problems, and complete jobs in a timely manner.
- Ability to lift or pull up to 50 pounds and work in awkward positions, around equipment, and in confined spaces.
- Ability to use hand tools and trade-type tools.
- General mechanical knowledge and aptitude.
Reporting Structure
No direct reports. May be assigned assistants or work with other technicians as needed.

- Frequent stooping, bending, and working in confined spaces.
Work Environment
- Primarily field-based, working outdoors at various jobsites.
- High noise levels.
- Variable temperatures.

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
