Job Summary
This is a commission-based position. We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Dog Groomer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a love for animals and a strong commitment to providing exceptional grooming services. As a Dog Groomer, you will be responsible for the grooming and care of various breeds of dogs, ensuring their comfort and well-being throughout the grooming process. This role requires both technical skills in grooming and a compassionate approach to animal care.
Responsibilities
- Perform grooming services including bathing, brushing, trimming, and nail clipping for dogs.
- Assess the condition of pets' coats and skin, providing appropriate care based on individual needs.
- Utilize proper animal restraint techniques to ensure the safety of both pets and staff during grooming sessions.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the grooming area, ensuring all tools and equipment are sanitized after each use.
- Communicate effectively with pet owners about their pets' grooming needs, health concerns, or behavioral issues.
- Provide basic pet care advice to clients regarding their pets’ grooming routines at home.
- Assist with heavy lifting when handling larger breeds or multiple pets as needed.
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a positive experience for both pets and their owners.
Experience
- Previous experience in pet grooming is required.
- Familiarity with animal handling techniques and animal care practices is essential.
- Knowledge of dog training techniques can enhance interactions with pets during grooming sessions.
- Strong communication skills are necessary to interact effectively with pet owners and team members.
