Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate part time School Teacher to join our educational apprentice team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in barbering and related fields, with the ability to inspire and mentor students in various aspects of beauty and personal care. This role requires excellent communication skills, a commitment to student success, and a thorough understanding of theoretical barbering.
Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred
Duties
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cover essential topics such as hair styling, color theory, makeup application, and nail care.
- Provide hands-on training in techniques including hair extensions, eyelash extensions, hair threading, barbering, and sanitation practices.
- Utilize salon software like CIMA for scheduling and managing student appointments effectively.
- Foster a positive learning environment that encourages student participation and growth through mentoring.
- Conduct assessments to evaluate student progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Maintain an organized classroom environment that reflects professionalism and industry standards.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the curriculum and share best practices in teaching methodologies.
- Assist with front desk operations, including customer service and retail sales activities related to beauty products.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of Barbering principles, including hair styling techniques, color theory, sanitation standards, and retail math.
- Proficient in salon software applications such as CIMA for efficient management of student schedules.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively convey concepts to students and engage with parents or guardians.
- Experience in mentoring students in practical skills such as straight razor techniques, hair extensions, eyelash extensions, and nail care.
- Ability to provide exceptional customer service while promoting upselling of products during retail sales activities.
