Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and highly skilled Traveling Construction Superintendent to lead complex construction projects in remote and challenging environments, including deployment to Antarctica. This role involves overseeing all aspects of construction site management, ensuring safety, quality, and schedule adherence while coordinating with diverse teams and stakeholders. The ideal candidate will possess extensive construction management experience, exceptional supervisory skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to groundbreaking projects in one of the most extreme environments on Earth, with deployment from a designated location in Colorado. All travel/food & lodging/expenses paid.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise all construction activities on-site, ensuring compliance with safety protocols, project specifications, and environmental regulations.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 or similar construction management software, tracking progress and adjusting plans as needed.
- Oversee quality control processes, including blueprint reading, schematics review, and inspections to ensure work meets design standards and contractual obligations.
- Manage project budgets by monitoring costs, reviewing contracts, and implementing cost-saving measures without compromising quality.
- Conduct regular site inspections using tools like Ohmmeters for electrical systems verification and ensure adherence to OSHA safety standards.
- Prepare comprehensive reports on project status, safety incidents, and progress updates for stakeholders.
- Supervise onsite personnel by providing clear direction, managing performance, and fostering a collaborative team environment in demanding conditions.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction management with a strong background in supervising large-scale projects on-site.
- Extensive construction site experience with knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and construction estimating.
- Familiarity with construction management software such as ProCore, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, HeavyBid or equivalent tools for project scheduling and cost control.
- Strong understanding of contracts management and procurement processes.
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets effectively while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and best practices for working in extreme environments like Antarctica.
- Excellent management skills with the ability to lead diverse teams across multiple disciplines under challenging conditions.
- Technical proficiency with tools such as ohmmeters for electrical troubleshooting and schematics analysis.
