We are seeking a reliable and professional Tow Truck Operator to respond to State Police calls and AAA roadside assistance requests. This position requires safe vehicle operation, excellent customer service, and the ability to work in fast-paced and sometimes high-pressure situations. Drivers must be dependable, detail-oriented, and committed to providing efficient and courteous service.
Responsibilities:
- Respond promptly to State Police and AAA dispatch calls
- Safely tow and transport vehicles, including cars, trucks, and light-duty equipment
- Provide roadside assistance services such as jump starts, lockouts, tire changes, and fuel delivery
- Communicate clearly with dispatch, law enforcement, and customers
- Complete required paperwork and documentation accurately
- Maintain cleanliness and basic maintenance of assigned tow truck
- Follow all safety procedures and traffic laws, especially at accident scenes
- Provide professional and courteous customer service at all times
- Properly secure vehicles for safe transport
- Handle vehicles carefully to avoid damage
Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred but not always required depending on truck type)
- Clean driving record
- Ability to pass background check (required for State Police rotation)
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work in various weather conditions
- Must be reliable and able to work independently
- Towing experience preferred but willing to train the right candidate
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous towing or roadside assistance experience
- Knowledge of local roads and highways
- Mechanical knowledge is a plus
- Experience working with AAA or law enforcement rotations
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
