POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Line Cook role is responsible for plating dishes, prepping food, basic food prepping tasks, and performing other related kitchen duties as needed. This position requires a motivated hospitality professional who is organized, passionate, and retains both a strong team-centered work ethic and a positive attitude. You will be an integral part of our service team who sets the stage for a memorable experience. You have a passion for the food and beverage industry and you strive to assist the hospitality team in provide exceptional hospitality to our guests.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
- Approach all interactions and communications with guests and employees in an attentive, courteous and service-oriented manner
- Assisting with stocking and setting up the kitchen stations
- Preparing food including cleaning and cutting the ingredients
- Cooking main dishes, appetizers, and desserts
- Maintain a clean and safe kitchen and work station
- Washing and cleaning the kitchen and cooking utensils and storing kitchen equipment
- Ensuring that the kitchen operation procedure and hygiene meet food safety standards and regulations, and performs other kitchen related duties as necessary
- Willingness to listen to, understand, and clarify any concerns raised by employees and guests with a solution-oriented approach.
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which includes adhering to the dress code
- Maximize efforts towards productivity while retaining focus on hospitality and a positive guest experience
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of information
- Must be able to show initiative, including anticipating guest or operational needs
- Perform other related duties as requested by management and/or that supports the team
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:
- 5+ years of experience of back of house kitchen experience required
- Must provide own all black uniform and black non-slip shoes
- Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen
- Team player with strong communication skills
- Good physical condition and endurance with ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Cleanliness, organization, and the ability to work well in a team environment
- Patient and ability to maintain a positive attitude under pressure
- Strong dedication and motivation to progress in the hospitality industry
- Perform opening procedures, closing procedures, and side-work duties in accordance to checklist resources
- Ensure that restaurant equipment and inventory is kept stocked, tidy and clean
- Ensure overall guest satisfaction and positive vibe is maintained
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to communicate effectively with management, guests, and staff.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility at least 8 hours in length.
- Must be able to exert well-paced ability to remain organized and remain calm during high-volume shifts.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
- May be required to lift trays of food or food items weighing up to 20 lbs.
- Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening, hearing and visual accuracies.
- Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment on the premises.
