Medical Office Operator – Call Center Environment
A well-established medical practice is seeking an experienced Medical Office Operator to join their centralized call center team. This role is essential to ensuring efficient communication and top-tier service across multiple office locations within the practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Answer and manage a high volume of incoming and outgoing calls in a professional, courteous manner
- Perform insurance verifications, including eligibility and benefits for a wide range of insurance providers
- Schedule, update, and manage patient appointments according to established protocols
- Accurately relay information regarding services, office hours, and provider availability
- Direct calls and messages to the appropriate departments or personnel
- Ensure patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA guidelines
Qualifications:
- At least 1 year of experience in a medical receptionist or similar administrative role
- Hands-on experience with insurance verifications (including commercial and government plans)
- Prior work in a call center or centralized scheduling environment preferred
- Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems and phone call routing software is a plus
