A nationally recognized leader in pediatric post-acute care—is seeking a dynamic Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to lead one of our residential "neighborhoods." What You’ll Do:
Clinical Leadership & Neighborhood Management
- 24/7 Clinical Accountability: Ensure professional nursing standards are maintained around the clock to achieve excellence and continuity in resident care.
- Team Empowerment: Lead the hiring, supervision, and professional evaluation of all nursing staff within your neighborhood, acting as a role model for patient safety and family collaboration.
- Quality & Compliance: Oversee regulatory compliance for MDS and Care Plans, conducting root cause analysis on medication errors and skin care to continually improve outcomes.
- Family Advocacy: Serve as a primary advocate for residents and their families, providing leadership and guidance during clinical crises.
Operational Excellence
- Strategic Rounds: Perform regular rounds to educate staff, assist with complex family issues, and ensure accurate clinical reporting across all shifts.
- Budget & Resources: Manage the neighborhood budget and ensure adequate par levels of medical supplies and equipment.
- Collaboration: Partner with the Director of Nursing and clinical educators to ensure staff competencies meet both facility and 1199 bargaining unit standards.
Qualifications:
Education & Licensing
- Active NYS Registered Nurse (RN) License.
- BSN required (Master’s degree in a related field preferred).
- Certifications: Current BCLS and PALS certifications required.
Skills & Experience
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of RN experience with at least 3 years of Management/Supervisory experience in an acute care or pediatric setting.
- Clinical Specialty: Experience in PICU, Pediatric Step-Down, or restorative nursing modalities is highly preferred.
- Leadership Traits: Strong skills in change management and emotional intelligence.
- Career Stability: We are looking for leaders with a proven track record of longevity.
Schedule & Location:
- Salary: $147,000 – $160,000 (Based on experience).
- Hours: 37.5-hour work week (7.5-hour days).
- Commitment: Strict 5-day on-site work week.
- Flexibility: Requires alternating weekends and holiday rotations; some days may start later to oversee various shifts and ensure 24/7 accountability.
