Major Responsibilities and Duties
Instructional Management
- Collaborate with district personnel for the purpose of implementing and maintaining services and/or programs.
- Train and support district speech pathology staff in the technology needed to perform their job duties.
- Assist Speech/Language Pathologists with assessments and therapy issues.
- Monitor speech therapy logs and other records related to student performance and instructional management.
School/Organizational Climate
- Participate in district wide activities to promote student growth.
- Maintain a positive and effective relationship with administrators and other co-workers.
School/Organizational Improvement
- Evaluate programs and/or projects for the purpose of carrying out and achieving objectives within the area of speech pathology.
- Monitor collection and maintenance of student records necessary for compliance.
- Assist with personnel functions (recruitment, hiring, evaluations, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining adequate staffing and enhancing productivity of personnel.
Student Management
- Monitor and maintain a variety of records and files for the purpose of ensuring documentation for future reference in accordance with district requirements.
- Prepare End of the Year check-out procedures for student management.
- Train Speech/Language Pathologists in techniques to assist them in managing their caseloads.
- Order materials and assessment instruments based on student needs.
Professional Growth and Development
- Plan and/or provide staff development opportunities for district Speech/Language Pathologists/Assistants.
- Model professional and ethical behavior.
- Present information on a variety of topics for the purpose of communicating information and/or gaining feedback.
- Research a variety of topics based on best practices to share with the Speech/Language Pathologists and Assistants.
- Attendance at work is an essential function.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor or designee.
