Starting Salary Range: $70,350 to $107,987 per year, salary placement determined by documented education and experience; maximum initial salary step placement on the Contract Regular Faculty Salary Schedule (175 Days) is step 9. This categorically-funded position pursuant to Ed Code 87470 is scheduled to begin August 17, 2026 and is for the 2026-2027 Academic Year on-site at our Aptos and Watsonville campus locations.

About the Department: The Construction and Energy Management program at Cabrillo College prepares students for careers in the building trades with an emphasis on sustainable construction, energy efficiency, and emerging technologies. The program offers hands-on, industry-aligned instruction in areas such as HVAC, electrical, construction management, and green building practices. Strong partnerships with local employers and workforce agencies support student success through internships, job placement, and career pathways.

Education and Experience:

Understanding of, and sensitivity to, the diverse academic, socio-economic, ethnic, religious, and cultural backgrounds, disability, and sexual orientation, of community college students, faculty, and staff AND

Bachelor’s degree or higher in construction management or environmental science AND two (2) years of professional experience OR
-
Associate degree in construction management or environmental science AND six (6) years of professional experience OR

Possess a lifetime California Community College Instructor Credential in construction energy management.

Meeting the posted requirements is not a guarantee of an interview. A written performance exercise and/or teaching demonstration/presentation may be a part of the interview.
