JOB OVERVIEW
We are seeking a compassionate, organized, and mission-driven Program Services Specialist who wants to be a part of creating a new way to deliver residential care. The Program Services Specialist works closely with the J’s House Treatment Director to provide case management support for youth participating in the residential treatment program and after-care services. This role encompasses responsibilities as outlined by the Texas DFPS Minimum Standards, T3C regulations, SSCC contracts, and supports our evidence-based model: Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI).
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Case Management & Youth Support:
- Provide case management services for youth participating in the J’s House residential treatment program
- Assist with after-care case management services and follow-up support in accordance with
- Maintain accurate documentation, case notes, service plans, and records in compliance with agency standards and licensing requirements.
- Collaborate with the Treatment Director and multidisciplinary team to support treatment planning and continuity of care
- Assist youth with accessing community resources, educational supports, healthcare services, and other identified needs
- Advocate for youth and support the development of independent living and life skills.
- Participate in an on-call rotation and respond to program needs as required.
- Participate in crisis response and provide support during challenging situations as needed.
Educational Liaison Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary Educational Liaison between J’s House and schools attended by youth in care.
- Coordinate communication with school personnel regarding attendance, academic progress, behavioral concerns, and educational planning.
- Support school enrollment, records requests, transportation coordination, and other education-related needs.
- Advocate for educational services and supports that promote academic success and engagement.
- Assist youth in maintaining school stability and positive educational outcomes.
Enrichment & Activity Coordination:
- Research, coordinate, and schedule enrichment activities, outings, and community-based experiences for youth.
- Develop opportunities that support their individual treatment plans, social-emotional growth, recreation, life skills development, and community engagement.
- Coordinate logistics, transportation, permissions, and scheduling for activities and outings.
- Ensure all enrichment activities comply with agency policies, safety procedures, and supervision requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, human services, education, or a related field preferred.
- Experience working in a treatment setting serving children, such as residential treatment centers, child-placing agencies providing treatment services, psychiatric hospitals serving children, educational setting or related setting required.
- Experience working with children in foster care, including those with significant trauma histories, behavioral challenges, or mental health needs is a plus.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Understanding of foster care systems, child development, trauma-informed care, and family dynamics.
- Ability to build positive relationships with youth, families, schools, and community partners.
- Strong organizational, time management, and documentation skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally.
- Efficient computer literacy with experience in standard office software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Experience with electronic case management systems is a plus.
Additional Requirements:
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Must pass background checks, including FBI fingerprints, and drug screening as required by state law and organizational policies.
- Valid Texas driver’s license, reliable transportation, and automobile insurance.
SCHEDULE
This position requires the individual to work within the residential treatment facility and may include evening or weekend hours depending on the needs of the children in care. The Program Services Specialist will be expected to participate in on-call rotations and handle emergency situations as they arise.

Pay: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
