Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Surgical Technologist for our Operating Room team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate responsibility and accountability to facilitate a safe and well-functioning operating room environment. This role is critical in ensuring patient safety during surgical procedures and collaborating with nurses to assure an efficient workflow of cases.
Responsibilities

Demonstrate professional responsibility in the Certified Surgical Technologist role.

The scrub surgical technologist handles the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure. Has an understanding of the procedures performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon. Has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field. Duties are as follows:

Checks supplies and equipment needed for surgical procedure.

Scrubs, gowns, and gloves.

Sets up sterile table with instruments, supplies equipment, and medications/solutions needed for procedure. Ensures all fluids on the back table are marked.

Performs appropriate counts with circulator prior to the operation and before the incision is closed.

Gowns and gloves surgeon and assistants.

Helps draping in sterile field.

Passes instruments, etc., to surgeon during procedure.

Maintains highest standard of sterile technique during procedure.

Prepares sterile dressings.

Cleans and prepares instruments for terminal sterilization.

Assists other members of the team with terminal cleaning of room.

Assists in prepping the room for the next patient.

Maintains confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Inspects, maintains, and tracks equipment, requests repairs, tracks loaner equipment.

Other duties as assigned.
Skills

Ability to apply, read, and interpret documents including but not limited to safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced operating room environment.

Excellent communication skills to interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
Education and Experience
-
High school diploma or GED required
-
Completion of nationally accredited Surgical Technology program, certification required.

1 year experience in a hospital and/or ambulatory surgery setting preferred

BLS Required

Pay: $29.00 - $36.00 per hour
