Position Overview
The Cake Team Member is responsible for preparing, decorating, and presenting cakes, pastries, and desserts. This role requires attention to detail, organization, cleanliness, and a passion for creating high-quality products.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, decorate, and finish cakes, pastries, and desserts
- Follow recipes and production procedures
- Make creams, sauces, fillings, and other cake components
- Keep cake displays clean, organized, and presentable
- Maintain a clean and sanitized work area
- Follow food safety and sanitation standards
- Receive, organize, stock, and store ingredients properly
- Monitor ingredient and supply levels
- Report equipment problems to a supervisor
- Learn new products and decorating techniques
- Help train new Cake Team Members when needed
- Manage time effectively and stay organized during busy shifts
- Complete other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Cake decorating, bakery, pastry, or food production experience preferred
- Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation
- Food Handler’s Certificate preferred
- Strong attention to detail and organization
- Ability to multitask and manage priorities
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Willingness to learn and accept feedback
- Positive, dependable, and self-motivated
