Position Overview
We’re looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Specialist to join our team in Erie, PA.
This role is responsible for managing purchasing activity, coordinating with vendors, supporting inventory management, and helping ensure products are available when our customers need them. The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, responsive, and comfortable balancing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
This position plays a key role in maintaining inventory levels, controlling costs, supporting customer service, and helping keep products moving efficiently throughout the business.
What You’ll Do
- Manage purchasing and replenishment activity across assigned product lines
- Monitor inventory levels and order timing to maintain product availability
- Coordinate with vendors regarding pricing, lead times, availability, and order status
- Work closely with sales, customer service, warehouse, and operations teams to support customer needs
- Help identify opportunities to improve purchasing efficiency and inventory performance
- Maintain accurate purchasing records and product information
- Support cost-conscious purchasing decisions while balancing inventory and service requirements
- Help ensure the smooth flow of products throughout the organization
What We’re Looking For
- Purchasing, procurement, inventory planning, or related experience preferred
- Strong communication, organization, and follow-up skills
- Ability to manage details, timelines, and multiple priorities
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities
- Comfortable working with vendors, inventory data, and purchasing systems
- Distribution, wholesale, manufacturing, or supply chain experience is a plus
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and business software systems
