Avellino’s Pizzeria in Brookhaven is looking for an experienced, reliable Full-Time/Part-Time Line Cook to join our kitchen team!
We are looking for someone with professional restaurant kitchen experience who is comfortable preparing a variety of Italian dishes and can maintain quality, consistency, and speed during a busy dinner service.
EXPERIENCE IS IMPORTANT
- Prior professional restaurant kitchen experience strongly preferred
- Experience preparing Italian cuisine, pasta, sauces, sautéed dishes, and other hot food items is a major plus
- Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen
- Ability to MULTITASK and manage multiple tickets and preparation tasks
- Able to follow recipes and maintain consistent quality
- Strong understanding of kitchen organization, cleanliness, and food safety
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare and cook a variety of Italian dishes according to Avellino’s recipes and standards
- Prepare pasta dishes, sauces, sautéed dishes, and other specialties
- Work efficiently during busy dinner service
- Handle multiple tickets and cooking tasks simultaneously
- Maintain consistency in flavor, presentation, and portioning
- Assist with daily kitchen preparation and ingredient prep
- Properly store, label, and rotate food products
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation
- Follow food safety and sanitation procedures
- Assist with opening, preparation, and closing duties
- Work closely with the rest of the kitchen team to ensure smooth service
REQUIREMENTS
- Professional restaurant kitchen experience strongly preferred
- Experience with Italian cuisine is a major plus
- Excellent multitasking skills and ability to work under pressure
- Ability to maintain quality and consistency during busy service
- Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
- Strong attention to detail
- Knowledge of proper food handling and sanitation
- Available to work evenings and weekends
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude
