Job Summary
Famet CDL Testing is seeking a professional, dependable, and detail-oriented CDL Examiner to join our team. In this role, you will administer CDL skills examinations, evaluate driver performance, and ensure all testing is conducted in accordance with Utah and FMCSA regulations. The ideal candidate is committed to safety, integrity, and providing a fair, professional testing experience while helping maintain the highest standards for commercial drivers.
Duties
- Administer CDL pre-trip, backing, and road skills examinations.
- Evaluate applicants according to Utah and FMCSA regulations.
- Verify applicant eligibility and required documentation.
- Complete and submit accurate testing records.
- Ensure testing vehicles meet safety requirements.
- Explain testing procedures clearly and professionally.
- Maintain compliance with all state CDL testing standards.
- Provide a safe, fair, and professional testing environment.
Skills
- Knowledge of FMCSA and state CDL regulations
- Ability to administer CDL pre-trip, backing, and road skills examinations
- Strong understanding of commercial vehicle safety standards
- Excellent observation and driver evaluation skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy with testing documentation
- Professional communication and customer service skills
- Ability to remain calm, fair, and consistent during examinations
- Basic computer skills for reporting and recordkeeping
- Strong organizational and time management skills
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL required
- Clean driving record
- No criminal record
- Utah CDL Examiner certification preferred (or ability to obtain)
- Strong knowledge of FMCSA and Utah CDL regulations
- Strong command of the English language, both written and verbal
- Professional, dependable, and detail-oriented
