Overview:
Our client, an innovative medical device company specializing in minimally invasive ablation technology, is seeking several Verification Engineers to support an exciting period of product development and testing. This is an excellent opportunity for engineers looking to gain hands-on experience within R&D while contributing to the verification and validation of cutting-edge medical devices.
This role is highly execution-focused and ideal for candidates who enjoy laboratory testing, protocol execution, technical documentation, and working closely with cross-functional engineering teams. The team is looking for reliable, detail-oriented engineers who can quickly jump into testing activities and help support a high-volume verification effort.
Responsibilities:
- Execute verification and validation (V&V) testing for medical device hardware and software.
- Follow and execute standard laboratory procedures and custom test protocols.
- Perform hands-on bench testing in a laboratory environment.
- Conduct tissue testing using animal tissue (cow liver) to support device verification.
- Accurately document testing activities, results, failures, and observations.
- Assist with technical documentation including verification reports, protocols, user manuals, and engineering documentation.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to investigate and communicate testing abnormalities.
- Support the team's transition to a new Quality Management System (QMS) for documentation and protocol management.
- Maintain strong attention to detail while working in a fast-paced R&D environment.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related scientific discipline.
- 2-5 years of engineering experience (entry-level candidates with strong internships or applicable laboratory experience are encouraged to apply).
- Experience executing verification, validation, laboratory, or product testing.
- Strong written communication and technical documentation skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Comfortable working onsite in a laboratory environment.
- Comfortable performing tissue testing involving animal tissue (cow liver), blood, and related laboratory conditions.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with engineering teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience writing or executing engineering test protocols.
- Experience with verification and validation (V&V) within medical devices, biotechnology, or life sciences.
- Familiarity with Quality Management Systems (QMS) or Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools.
- Experience developing protocols from engineering requirements or supporting requirement traceability.
- Experience supporting FDA-regulated product development environments.
