Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team at Oak Street Elementary School for a temporary leave replacement position from July 15, 2026, to January 31, 2027. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to supporting students with diverse learning needs within the CBAP (Comprehensive Behavioral Assessment and Planning) program. This role requires collaboration with staff, parents, and community resources to create a nurturing and inclusive educational environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to meet the unique needs of students within the CBAP program.
- Conduct assessments to evaluate student progress and adapt instructional strategies accordingly.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and support staff to ensure a cohesive approach to student learning.
- Provide direct instruction in academic and social skills to students with varying disabilities.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress, behavior, and IEP compliance.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to discuss student progress and address any concerns.
- Participate in team meetings, professional development, and training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge in special education practices.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect, empathy, and independence among students.
- Implement behavioral interventions and strategies to support students in achieving their academic and social goals.
Requirements
- Valid state certification in Special Education.
- Experience working with students with disabilities, preferably in an elementary school setting.
- Knowledge of CBAP programs and strategies for supporting students with behavioral challenges.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with students, parents, and staff.
- Ability to create and maintain a structured and supportive classroom environment.
- Proficiency in using technology and educational software to enhance instruction and communication.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with best practices in special education.
