Duties
- Safely operate forklifts,Cherry Picker, pallet jacks, and other heavy equipment to load, unload, and transport materials within the warehouse
- Use RF scanners and warehouse management systems to accurately pick, pack, and process customer orders
- Conduct order picking with precision to ensure correct items and quantities are selected for shipment
- Manage shipping and receiving tasks by verifying incoming goods against purchase orders and documenting discrepancies
- Perform stock replenishment, stocking, and inventory control activities to maintain optimal warehouse levels
- Assist in packaging products securely for shipment while adhering to quality control standards
- Support warehouse distribution processes by coordinating with warehouse supervisors to optimize workflow and productivity
Skills
- Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts, cherry picker, and pallet jacks in a warehouse environment
- Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and RF scanner technology for efficient order processing
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic maintenance or troubleshooting on equipment when needed
- Excellent understanding of order picking, packing, shipping & receiving procedures, and inventory management
- Ability to lift heavy loads safely while following proper safety protocols for heavy lifting and materials handling
- Familiarity with warehouse safety standards, quality control processes, and load & unload operations
- Previous experience in warehouse supervision or team coordination is a plus but not required
Essential Job Functions:
Complete all work assigned on time and communicate regularly with other warehouse employees as needed to complete assigned tasks. Communicate with supervisor regularly to alert status of work flow and completion.
Reporting to work on-time and in advance of the shift start. Completing all prescribed work in a timely, safe, accurate and productive manner.
Assignment, Review and Approval of Work:
Pickers and Packers report directly to the Warehouse Manager for the assigned duties.
Education and Job Experience Requirements:
A high school education is desired to assume this position. Additionally, previous experience in a warehouse distribution environment is preferred. Dependable work experience is a requirement.
Other Requirements:
- Ability to lift heavy materials and perform physical labor over extended period of time.
- Ability to use a tape measure and identify products by size and length.
- Dependability, attentive work practices and desire to perform quality and efficient
Job Requirements:
- Must be able to speak, read and write English
- Must be proficient in basic math
- Must have experience using a forklift, order picker or electric pallet jack
- Must be able to lift 25--100 lbs frequently
- Must be able to follow directions and work independently
- Requires high degree of attention, skill and dexterity in the control of pallet jack and stacking of product
- Must be able to meet specific shipping goals for speed and accuracy
