Job Summary
We are seeking a Web & Communications Specialist for a contract opportunity in Sunnyvale, CA within a government and public sector environment. This role is ideal for a digital communications professional who enjoys managing public-facing websites, improving online content, supporting accessibility standards, and helping departments communicate clearly with the community.
The Web & Communications Specialist will serve as a key resource for website administration, content quality control, online forms, vendor coordination, and digital communications support. This is a strong opportunity to contribute to meaningful public service work in a collaborative, mission-driven setting where accuracy, accessibility, usability, and clear communication are highly valued.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as site administrator and final approver for public website updates, ensuring content meets plain language, formatting, accessibility, and quality standards.
- Create, edit, and maintain webpages using Granicus GovAccess CMS templates while keeping the website sitemap accurate and up to date.
- Monitor and resolve website issues using tools such as Siteimprove, including broken links, misspellings, accessibility findings, and content quality items.
- Coordinate with internal departments and vendors to manage CMS issues, support digital communications needs, maintain search settings, and route web team tickets.
- Build and maintain online forms using Formstack or similar tools, with attention to usability, accessibility, conditional logic, notification routing, and user permissions.
- Support web team documentation, training, quarterly meetings, content standards, and onboarding for staff involved in website updates.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay range: $52 to $58 per hour.
