Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Material Receiver to join our pipe fabrication shop team. The Material Receiver is responsible for receiving, inspecting, organizing, and tracking incoming materials used in pipe fabrication and industrial projects. This role is critical to maintaining inventory accuracy and supporting production schedules.
Responsibilities
- Receive incoming pipe, fittings, flanges, valves, and fabrication materials
- Verify shipments against purchase orders and packing slips
- Inspect materials for damage, quantity discrepancies, and specification compliance
- Label, organize, and store materials in designated areas
- Maintain accurate receiving and inventory records
- Coordinate with purchasing, warehouse, and shop personnel regarding shortages or damaged materials
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely
- Assist with material staging for fabrication and production
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures
Qualifications
- Previous warehouse, receiving, or material handling experience preferred
- Experience in a pipe fabrication, industrial, or construction environment is a plus
- Ability to read packing slips, material test reports (MTRs), and purchase orders
- Basic computer and inventory tracking skills
- Forklift experience or certification preferred
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in an industrial shop environment
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
