Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our finance team. Duties
- Prepare and analyze journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and general ledger accounting to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes using financial software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or Workday
- Conduct detailed account analysis and account reconciliation to verify data integrity across multiple systems including PeopleSoft, Ceridian, ADP, Kronos, UltiPro, and Paychex
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and internal policies
- Assist with internal controls and compliance procedures related to SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) requirements
- Handle confidential financial information with integrity while maintaining data security standards
- Perform data entry tasks with high accuracy using advanced Excel data analysis techniques and 10-key typing skills
- Contribute to budgeting, financial reporting, and audit preparation efforts by providing detailed financial insights
- Support payroll management activities through systems like ADP or UltiPro, ensuring timely processing of employee payments
Experience
- Proven accounting experience with a strong foundation in corporate accounting principles and practices
- Hands-on experience working with financial software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms
- Familiarity with governmental accounting standards and non-profit accounting is a plus
- Knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), tax concepts, and technical accounting standards
- Experience in public accounting or auditing enhances understanding of compliance requirements
- Strong numeracy skills coupled with excellent attention to detail for account reconciliation and journal entries
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating across teams and supporting customer service initiatives related to finance
