Want to learn a real trade and get paid while you do it? We're hiring a paint apprentice — no experience needed, just show up, work hard, and be coachable.
Midwest Residential is a remodeling company that runs like a business. Our paint crew is led by experienced pros, and we're looking for one person who wants to learn the trade from the ground up — and build a career, not just take a job.
You don't need to know how to paint. You need to be reliable, take direction well, have an eye for doing things right, and be willing to work. We'll teach you the rest — masking, prep, rolling, cutting in, trim, the whole craft — working alongside painters who've done it for years.
What you'd do (and learn):
- Start with prep — masking, sanding, caulking, priming, keeping the site clean and protected.
- Learn to roll walls and ceilings, then cut in trim and doors — the real skill — under our veteran painters.
- Grow into a certified, skilled painter on a clear, step-by-step path.
What we need:
- Reliable — you show up on time, every day, with your own transportation.
- Coachable — you take correction well and want to learn the right way, not your way.
- An eye for detail — you care about doing things cleanly and right.
- Able to do the work — comfortable on ladders, on your feet all day, lifting up to 75 lbs.
- Valid driver's license, drug-free, and presentable (we work in people's homes).
- No painting experience required. A little is fine, but we'd rather teach you fresh.
What we offer:
- $18-20/hr to start — and you control your raises. Every painting skill you certify on bumps your pay. Reliable + learning fast? You'll climb to $22-25, then to skilled painter wages (~$27-28+) as you certify on the trade.
